PROFILE
"Reincarnation is a gift to those who made one too many mistakes in their previous life. Unfortunately, most of us are not aware of our sins from that life. Backstory: Nearly 600 years ago, there was a malicious orc by the name "Baraka, The Scornful". Unlike most of his kind, he despised humans, demons, and anyone else that wasn't an orc. During the reign of Mayland's 133rd ruler, Baraka, along with orcs who shared his dark ambitions, unleashed a surprise attack on the citizens of The Royal Lands, the capital of Mayland. They began slaughtering any living thing that stood in their path. Immediately, various groups of sages were ordered by Mayland's ruler to deal with Baraka and his minions. Two of those sages were a married gay couple: Simon Fairchild and his husband Kim Min Cheol. During the battle, Kim ended up face-to-face against Baraka. Simon tried his best to save his husband. Simon had to unfortunately witness Baraka brutally killing his beloved. Enraged, Simon lost control of his magic as he unleashed a powerful blast that destroyed Baraka. However, he badly injured several of his fellow sages in the process. The battle was over and despite the casualties, the sages managed to defeat the sinister orcs. However, due to Simon's actions on the battlefield, the 133rd ruler of Mayland had branded him a witch and exiled him from the Royal Lands. Having lost his husband, nothing else mattered to Simon as he disappeared into the forest and never was seen again.
Many years later, Queen Ida would become Mayland's 134th ruler after toppling the 133rd regime. On a rainy night within the Colville Forest, a tan-colored infant orc was laying underneath the bottom of a giant tree with a blanket around its body. Stumbling upon the infant orc was a naked muscular man with whitish blue hair that draped on the floor. The man spotted the infant and immediately sensed the orc possessed an ominous level of magic within. Recognizing this magic from an orc he had slain centuries ago, the man quickly realized that the infant orc was the reincarnation of the dreaded Baraka who killed his lover many years ago and caused his exile. The man also deduced that the infant's mother had abandoned him shortly after giving birth to him due to also sensing the newborn's dangerous magic. In that very moment, the naked man contemplated if he should kill the infant right at this moment or walk away and allow whatever wild creature that roams the forest to make the infant a meal. Choosing neither option, the naked man grabbed the baby and took him to his hideout within the forest. Raising the young orc as his own. The Naked Hermit would name the infant Aberth Fairchild with the intentions of ensuring that the orc did not grow up to be a tyrant as in his past life.
Raised by The Naked Hermit, Alberth was taught how to control his earthen magical powers at a young age. Alberth was also taught compassion, empathy, and how to properly judge living beings based on their behavior and characteristics. Also, while The Naked Hermit had tried to keep Alberth clothed, (since his guardian was naked all the time) Alberth too preferred being in the nude. Such a lifestyle, being a child and adult, would have been bizarre and gravely judged had they lived within civilization. However, due to The Naked Hermit being exiled and Alberth being an orc who normally resides in forests and other earthy places, they lived freely around one another. The Hermit passed down his knowledge to Alberth, with the exception of one, which he would keep to himself until Alberth was much older. Continuing their lives in the forest, ignoring whatever takes place outside of Colville Forest, The Naked Hermit would one day learn of some news after overhearing a conversation between sages passing through the forest. Queen Ida had been slain and Mayland's new ruler was a half-demon by the name Onyx Carnival. Learning that the situation involved the exile of a sage by the surname Fairchild shortly after becoming Mayland's newest ruler, Onyx had gone to the forest and confronted The Naked Hermit. After a brief discussion, Onyx informed him that he had lifted his exile and he was welcome to live among the rest of society. The Naked Hermit thanked the young king for repealing his exile, but decided he didn't want anything to do with the world outside the forest. Saddened by The Naked Hermit's decision but respecting it, Onyx bade him farewell and returned to his castle.
Continuing to live life alongside his Guardian, Alberth would learn how to use his magic for both combat and defensive usage. The Naked Hermit would even surprise Alberth by having him venture with him to Arundel. This would be the first time since being raised by him that the two ever ventured outside of the forest. The Naked Hermit did this in order for Alberth to have a better understanding of the world outside the forest and to allow him to better understand the people around them. Every now and then The Naked Hermit would have Alberth journey with him to various places in Mayland in order to improve his knowledge. All that changed when a sinister God by the name Akodomal, along with his minion declared war on all of the Mortal Realm. This event would be known as "The Five Year War". The Naked Hermit sensed a disturbance within Alberth upon Akodomal causing havoc throughout the Mortal Realm. Fearful that the God's action may trigger the worse of him, The Naked Hermit decided to place Alberth in a magical sleep, preserving his body and life force until the day Akodomal was defeated or gave up. Five years later, Akodomal and most of his cohorts would be defeated by the heroes on the Mortal Realm and thus Alberth would awaken. Upon awakening, Alberth was greeted by his Guardian along with a small naked blue fairy named Rino. Rino had met The Naked Hermit a year prior after feeling unsafe alongside his fairy tribe due to Akodomal's actions.
Glad to have been awakened after the turmoil has ended, Alberth would learn that his guardian was nearly at the end of his life. Having spent so many years with his Guardian, Alberth was very heartbroken that his Guardian was soon going to pass away. Knowing that his time was coming to a close, The Naked Hermit revealed the truth about Alberth and told him that he was the reincarnation of an evil orc named Baraka that he had slain him in battle centuries ago. Realizing all of this, Alberth questioned why did his Guardian take him in and decided to raise him? The Naked Hermit responded with, "Killing you would not have undone the past had I done so. I wouldn't be able to raise you in a way that would allow you to redeem yourself from your past life behavior. I'm beyond glad I decided to show you mercy because you became the son that I never expected. You taught me that there is life outside of heartbreak and I'm so glad I found you so many centuries ago". The Naked Hermit's time was coming to a close and he would make a request to Rino to stay by Alberth's side and help keep him on a noble path. Finally, The Naked Hermit told Alberth to not remain in the forest all of his life and travel throughout all the Mortal Realm. Also, to do him a favor and locate a man by the name Shao Ziya who is on his own journey. Alberth vehemently promised to follow all of his Guardian's wishes and that he will not take his second chance of life for granted. After finally putting his Guardian to rest, Alberth alongside Rino would begin their journey. Of course, Alberth would finally throw on his green jump suit since walking around completely naked throughout the Mortal Realm would be crude.
CHRIS LOTUS' THOUGHTS - For the record, I like the name Alberth over RINO! While it is noted that his design is intentionally sexual, I do appreciate the fact there's a backstory explaining it, which makes me think a bit of Mai Shiranui (big fighting game fan here, in case you didn't know haha). Alberth basically came from a nudist lifestyle and the fact that he would find it "crude" to continue said lifestyle on his journey outside the forest is a decent explanation for the jumpsuit. It additionally shows how Alberth is developing an understanding of the outside world. Alberth's story is an intriguing one centered around second chances. It has been said that you should never underestimate the power you give and the impact you have on someone by believing in them. Alberth is proof of that and judging by his introductory quote, even he knows it.
TRIVIA
1. Alberth Fairchild's original name was RINO! However I didn't feel the name fitted the character so as I continue working on the character's backstory. The name Alberth felt perfect to me. That's when I decided he would have a fairy companion named Rino instead.
2. Usually in a FORBIDDEN character's profile there is an Ally section in the profile. However since Alberth's allies are all named in his backstory, I decided to not include it in his official profile. Instead Alberth received "Unique Skill"
3. Alberth is the second orc character introduced to the FORBIDDEN series with the first being Bass Villar
4. Alberth's backstory shares similarities with the character ARKAN. Both of which are reincarnations of villainous beings.
5. Alberth's design was also created to be very sexual. However Alberth wears clothes in case the character would need censorship for bigger media should such a day ever come.
