On a quiet Sunday night, a young man dressed in risque pink attire hung out alone in an amusement park. This individual was none other than Mayland's current ruler, the 135th King, Onyx Carnival. Normally, the King would either be hanging out in his room, out on an adventure, or spending time with his lover, Sung Jin. Tonight, the King was alone as he reflected on his thoughts as of late. With everything that was going on in his life, along with his ongoing issues with his ally and rival, Hellin Strongs, the heaviest thing on his mind was the anniversary of his foster father's, Tobirama Senju, death. Onyx remembered when he was only four-years-old, he and Tobirama watched Saturday morning cartoons together. Onyx also remembered the character named Jolly Elisa who had heterochromia with one of her eyes being blue and the other sea green. Onyx had wanted eyes just like hers since he at the time had the typical red eyes of a demon. Thanks to the encouragement of his father, Onyx had managed to change his eye color from red to one being blue and the other sea green. Onyx recalled that despite people often giving him a rough time for being half-demon growing up, Tobirama's love for him never wavered. Tobirama taught Onyx the ways of the world along with training him to be more than proficient in hand-to-hand combat. Even after reaching adulthood, Onyx continued to happily live with his father for many years as they were closer than any father and son could ever imagine. Sadly, that all came to an end when the ruler of Mayland before him, Queen Ida, had his father assassinated. While riding on a carousel, Onyx used a quick spell to activate the ride before laying his head and upper body on the electronic horse. While tears rolled down his face the King fell off to sleep as he dreamed a dream he had many times before; one filled with great sadness and pain.
Covered in the blood of his father's assailant, the half-demon, Onyx Carnival, rushed over to his dying father, Tobirama Senju. Tears rolled down his face as Onyx begged his adoptive father not to die. Alas, the injuries he sustained in battle were too great. Onyx held onto his adoptive father for the few moments they had left together. Tobirama told Onyx how proud he was to be his father and that he was so lucky to find Onyx on his doorstep so many years earlier. He was thankful to the parents that left their child on his doorstep to raise as his own. Tobirama reminded Onyx of everything he taught him from childhood to adulthood, and that no matter how cruel the world becomes, never stop being a kind person and helping others as often as possible. His father then asked Onyx to use his telepathy on him to learn the truth behind his father's fatal attack. Upon using his telepathy, Onyx discovered that Tobirama was a former assassin who was an ally of Mayland's then ruler, Queen Ida. Unbeknownst to him at the time, Queen Ida had wanted Tobirama to become her righthand man and gave him many years to serve by her side, but he declined every offer. Eventually, Queen Ida had enough of his defiance and sent a multitude of assassins to kill him and his son, if necessary. While Tobirama managed to stop most of the assassins, one of them got the best of him. That assassin would end up being defeated and killed by Onyx. Despite learning about his father's less than stellar past, the half-demon's love for his foster father never diminished and he would always be thankful for the love Tobirama had shown him over the years.
Onyx kissed his father's forehead as he passed away, sobbing while still holding his father in his arms. A woman dressed in funeral attire then appeared. Instead of wearing typical black, the woman dressed in purple and the outfit had a sexual appeal to it. That was to be expected from Babylon's Queen, Othello Strongs. The Queen stared at the crying young man holding his deceased father with a look of pity and a hint of annoyance. Othello then walked over to Onyx and placed her left hand on his head and began communicating with him via telepathy.
Othello: Tobirama is dead, Onyx dearie. Holding him in your arms and crying isn't going to bring him back to life.
Onyx: Why did my father have to die? He was no threat to Ida, yet she had him killed because he wanted to live a normal life. I want to make her pay for sending her assassins to kill him! I'm going to make her suffer if it's the last fucking thing I do! Othello... SHE HAD MY FATHER MURDERED! I'LL NEVER FORGIVE HER!
Othello: And you shouldn't, but you know it would be unwise to just simply go and kill Ida. Bad enough the reputation of demons in the Mortal Realm is still bathing in dogshit despite how relations have changed between demons and non-demons over the centuries. Demons are still a very hated race and half-demons, like yourself, aren't seen in a much better light. However, it's been ten years, so it's about time a certain someone has to fight to defend her throne.
Onyx: The Devilry Combat Tournament?
Othello: Precisely, my dear sweet Onyx. It's the law of this land that whenever ten years pass, Mayland's current ruler must host a tournament full of potential replacements to their throne, and the challenger that outlasts the others gets a shot at removing the current King or Queen off of their throne... permanently!
Onyx: But that tournament is for those born from the Mortal Realm only. Besides, never in the history of Mayland rulers has there ever been a half-demon, like myself, or any demons for that matter. Lastly, I do not desire to become ruler of Mayland anyways.
Othello: But you desire revenge, right? Unless you would rather use illegal methods to deal with Queen Ida? Of course, if you fail to assassinate her, not only would you be executed, but life for demons and half-breeds, like yourself, would become even harder in this realm. Do you really want that for our kind? Furthermore, are you not a citizen of this realm? You were birthed by a mortal mother in a church located in Arundel, one of the seventy States in Mayland. Therefore, you have as much right to enter the Devilry Combat Tournament as the rest of the beings of this realm.
Onyx: Can't argue with facts. IF I do enter the tournament, defeat all the other competitors, and fight Ida, what happens if I end up defeating her? I do not want to become Mayland's 135th ruler.
Othello: But you want to avenge your father? Well, if you're okay with Tobirama being unjustly murdered then I guess you shouldn't enter the tournament. Bury your father and enjoy the satisfaction of him being nothing more than a memory. However, something tells me if the situation were reversed, Tobirama wouldn't hesitate to avenge you. That man loved you like you were his own from the very day he found you on his doorsteps. Don't let your father's death be in vain, Onyx Carnival! Worry about what happens after you've killed Ida. Don't be selfish and use your powers to exact vengeance upon the woman who murdered the only family you've ever known.
Onyx:...Okay... I'll enter the tournament and exact my father's... no, MY REVENGE! First I would like to give my father a proper burial and, of course, ask you for some quick training before I start my journey to the Royal Lands.
Othello: Now that's the spirit! I'll be more than happy to teach you a few tricks along with the Seduction Spells, and to improve your telepathic abilities. Now, let's put an end to our private telepathic chat and bury your father. Then we'll begin your training before your journey to the Royal Lands.
Onyx buried his beloved foster father, Tobirama Senju, whom he spent many happy years with only to lose him in such a tragic way. Onyx then trained with Queen Othello in preparation for the Devilry Combat Tournament. While traveling to compete in the tournament, Onyx met a demon man named James Del Soto, who was being pursued by assassins. After slaying the demons who attempted to kill James, the two became fast friends as they traveled together to the Royal Lands. Onyx then entered the tournament with James entering alongside him in order to increase Onyx's chances to battle Mayland's current ruler, Queen Ida. Defeating many strong opponents along the way, Onyx eventually had a battle to the death with Queen Ida. Defeating the sadistic Queen and avenging his deceased father, Onyx ended up becoming the 135th King of Mayland, and the rest is history.

Powers: Phukong's ancestral powers allow him to create blue-colored flames in order to combat evil spirits and to exorcise them. Phukong can also see spirits and those who have become possessed by them.
Boon-mee is able to see spirits thanks to a magical blessing his deceased mother had placed upon him. Boon-mee later gained the ability to combat spirits upon receiving the Spirit Slayer nunchucks from the scientist, Victoria, from Mayland.
BIO
Phukong and Boon-mee are childhood friends turned lovers. Both currently work with their friend and teacher, Dorothea, to combat malicious spirits around the world. Phukong comes from a long line of exorcists who wield various powers in order to combat evil spirits. While Boon-mee, a relatively normal human, was the son of a Thai Secret Agent mother and a father who owned a barbershop. Upon giving birth to Boon-mee, his mother placed a spell on him that would allow him to see spirits when he reached puberty. Boon-mee's mother passed away when he was only six-years-old during a dangerous mission. That forced his father to raise him by himself until he eventually remarried and had another child with his current wife. Thankfully, shortly after losing his mother, Boon-mee befriended a kid by the name of Phukong, who recently moved to his neighborhood. The two young boys had an instant connection and hung out regularly both in or out of school. Their friendship had continued over many years and even when they got on each other's nerves, the two young men couldn't go long without being around each other.
Unfortunately, shortly after Phukong's sixteenth birthday, he began experiencing fevers and body spasms. Boon-mee was fearful for his friend's well-being. Unbeknownst to him, Phukong wasn't sick but his spiritual powers had begun awakening. Phukong's mother and father realized this and had to bring their son back to their original home in Samui in order for Phukong's grandmother to get him adjusted to his new powers. Boon-mee was sad when Phukong had moved away but before he had left, Phukong promised Boon-mee that he would return once his situation was handled. Boon-mee spent the rest of his summer hanging out with his family and other childhood friends, but he longed for the return of his best friend.
A few months later, the new school semester began. While heading to start his senior year, Boon-mee was both shocked and ecstatic upon seeing his best friend, Phukong, had returned and that his hair color had changed from brunette to a neon blue. Phukong, after giving his friend a big hug, explained to him that his spiritual powers had awoken and he had to go away for awhile in order to get control over them. His neon blue hair was a magical side effect. Boon-mee was not only happy to have his best friend back in his life but also happy that his friend had super powers. The two boys then began their day of school and attended their first period class. Both young men saw what appeared to be a ghostly looking girl dressed in a typical school uniform. It wasn't shocking that Phukong was able to see the spirit, but Boon-mee was surprised that he saw it as well. The boys then had another discussion because Phukong wanted to know how Boon-mee was able to see the spirit if he wasn't an exorcist or a Spirit Toucher. Boon-mee remembered the story his father told him as a kid that upon his birth his biological mother had placed a spell on him, thus realizing the spell his mother had placed upon him allowed him to see spirits. The two boys then decided they would figure out what was going on at their school.
Days passed and while investigating the strange spirit they had seen, along with the cases of students committing suicide at the school, both Phukong and Boon-mee began to realize their feelings for each other had developed from platonic to romantic. One evening while hanging out in the library, after another day of failed investigation, the two young men shared a passionate kiss before confessing their true feelings for each other. The two decided to become boyfriends. Now all that was left was to solve the mystery behind the spirit roaming their school and the unfortunate suicides... and, of course, graduate on time. Luckily, the two of them were soon be joined by an experienced Spirit Hunter from Zimbabwe named Dorothea.
Upon Dorothea's arrival in Thailand and meeting with the two young men, the three joined forces to put an end to the madness taking place at the school. The trio finally managed to corner the malicious schoolgirl spirit who was causing various students to commit suicide. Dorothea and Phukong, with Boon-mee giving emotional support to his boyfriend, managed to use their combined abilities to vanquish the evil spirit and give peace to all of her victims. After completing her duty in Thailand, Dorothea had intended to return to her homeland but Phukong and Boon-mee really loved having her around. And Dorothea did enjoy the friendship she formed with the two young men in such a short time. Thus, she offered to remain in Thailand only if the two of them would become her apprentices and attend college. The two boys swiftly agreed and together the three of them became a team of Spirit Hunters.
A few months after the events at the school and the two boys graduating, Dorothea took Phukong and Boon-mee to Mayland to meet with Victoria Vance, the esteemed scientist and sister of former MMA fighter, Frankie Vance. During the trip, Boon-mee received a pair of special nunchucks called "Spirit Slayer" in order to fight alongside his friends against malicious spirits.

Phukong is inspired by the character "Tee" played by actor Thanatsaran Samthonglai from the series "Cause You're My Boy"
Boon-Mee is inspired by the character "Mork" played by actor Suttabut Laedeke from the series "Cause You're My Boy"
Phukong is a natural since his powers were inherited by his ancestors while Boon-Mee was taught exorcism and gained his ability to see spirits thanks to a spell his mother placed on him

BACKSTORY
Centuries ago, a terrible event had taken place in the Mortal Realm. A 67-foot tall red and black monster had emerged from its dimension and began wreaking unspeakable havoc upon humans, elves, fairies, demons, beasterians, and all other denizens of the Mortal Realm. This monstrous creature was foretold by prophets long before its dreaded arrival. Its name was Calamity! Unleashing pure chaos and destruction throughout Europe, a group of highly powerful sages were tasked with bringing down the dragon. Led by Boris Dreamtime, an extremely powerful sage born and raised in England, Boris along with his fellow sages battled Calamity. Despite their combined efforts, Calamity proved able to withstand even their strongest spells, which forced Boris to do the unthinkable in order to slay the dragon. Performing a sacrificial FORBIDDEN SPELL, Boris would be able to slay the dragon at the cost of his own life. Boris did not care that he was going to die as long as England and the rest of Europe were saved. However, he did feel sadness knowing that he couldn't say goodbye to his demon lover, Ophelia, or his child, Okubi. Boris performed the Forbidden Spell and both Calamity and he were no more.
Many years later, a dragon named Arkan was born in the Dragon Lands, a place known to house various types of dragons and also one of the most dangerous places within the Mortal Realm. Upon becoming conscious, the young and developing dragon would have nightmares of a gigantic black and red dragon causing destruction. As Arkan grew older, the nightmares eventually lessened, but still would occur from time to time. One day while on an excursion with his close friend, Brandy, a human warrior woman who had been raised by dragons despite not being one herself, they were confronted by the disowned Goddess Hecate. Upon meeting the Goddess, Arkan discovered that the dreams he had were no mere dreams, but the misdeeds of his past self. It hurt Arkan's pride greatly to know that he was the reincarnation of the terrible Dragon of Death, also known as Calamity. Fortunately, because he was slain on a Mortal Realm and reincarnated as dragon-type beasterian, Arkan was able to change his fate. Hecate warned him if he ever gave into the darkness within his soul, he'll end up repeating his past transgressions and transform into a newer version of Calamity. Determined not to let his past repeat itself, the beasterian asked the Goddess to give him something to combat his inner darkness. Hecate agreed and with the help of her friend, Hephaestus, the two created a broadsword called Hope-Bringer, which contained divine energy to help Arkan combat the darkness within his soul.
Going forward, Arkan, along with his divine sword, combatted various local evils. Each battle with his trusted sword greatly aided the beasterian in keeping his inner darkness at bay. During one unfortunate day, Arkan encountered the Witch Okubi, the child of the sage who had killed his previous self centuries ago. Arkan sensed the rage emanating from Okubi, but the two did not battle. Okubi refrained from confronting him mainly because the witch knew that Arkan regretted his past self's misdeeds. Nonetheless, Okubi's disdain towards him remained intact but they deemed the dragon-type beasterian unworthy of killing. However, Okubi swore to Arkan should he ever lose his battle to his darkness, they would kill him with extreme prejudice.
TRIVIA
1- Arkan's original design was a yellow colored humanoid dragon
2- Unlike some of my other FORBIDDEN characters who just received a new design. Arkan got a complete design overhaul to bring my true vision for the character to life
3- Arkan is the reincarnation of the mighty ferocious dragon Calamity. The one responsible for a horrific event in the Mortal Realms many years ago
4- Arkan wears a loincloth that has magical resistance to windy weather or fast movements. However he is not completely immune to having his genitals exposed in battle
5- Arkan's sword "Hope-Bringer" not only helps purify his soul but possesses divine powers that are great against dark magic users, darkens, and demons
6- Arkan's love for grapefruit is so great that if he hears someone speaking bad about the fruit. It would make him want to debate with them in hopes of changing their mind

BIO: Trickie is currently known to the world as one of the greatest musical sensations to ever live on the Mortal Realm, which she has been since she arrived on the scene at age twenty-one. Born in Trinidad, Trickie Nicole Mirage is the daughter of Angela Mirage and a Fairy King named Husoon. Angela had a brief fling with the Fairy King before having to end things with him because the King chose his duties over his human lover. Shortly afterwards, Angela discovered she was pregnant. After giving birth to her daughter several months later, Angela decided to take Trickie to live in the country of Mayland. One of the reasons was because Angela obtained work in a high fashion store located in New York. The other reason was to assure that Trickie would never have a run-in with her biological father; since he decided that his Kingdom came before the woman he supposedly loved.
Growing up in Brooklyn, New York, Trickie did well in school. Each day after coming home and finishing her homework, she would listen to instrumentals. She then started writing word to whatever harmony she was listening to at the time. Trickie would also listen to various highly-praised singers to know what standards to set for herself when she was finally ready to start singing. One day while coming home late from work, Angela was stunned by the beautiful voice she heard coming from her daughter's room. Upon realizing that her daughter was in fact the source of the extravagant voice she heard, Angela asked her daughter if she wanted to become a singer. Trickie told her mother that she indeed desired to become a singer and to be a great one.
Ever since that faithful day, whenever Angela had the time, she would take Trickie to various auditions to show off her growing talent to the world. At the age of nineteen, Trickie entered a talent show organized by the very popular musical producer and owner of Overzealous Records, the one and only Trevonte Overzealous. Trevonte had a sharp eye and keen ear for what makes a superstar and upon seeing Trickie perform, the music mogul knew immediately that he had to sign her. Trickie agreed to sign with him only if she owned the masters to all the music she created under his label. Trevonte was hesitant at first but upon seeing the young woman's conviction, the mogul gave in to her demands but did so knowing that she'll be a worthy investment in the coming future. Shortly afterwards, Trickie became a singing sensation across the globe. She was a dynamite singer, an electrifying performer, and very easy on the eyes.
During her spare time, Trickie would practice using her fairy powers, especially after discovering at age seventeen that she was half-fairy. She had accidentally blasted an overbearing guy who was hitting on her at the movies. She had learned that her father is a Fairy King back in her homeland of Trinidad. After learning the story behind her mother's relationship with him, Trickie decided it would be best if she just lived her life as a superstar and not focus on getting to know a parent who she lived so many years without. It wasn't that she resented her father, but she just didn't feel the need to reconnect with him. Having a loving mother and fame was more than she ever wanted or needed in life. And she was thankful for the cool powers she has because she's part fairy.
TRIVIA
1- Trickie is inspired by rapper Nicki Minaj
2- Trickie's original name was Angela Mirage with "Trickie" being her stage name. However I was worried that would be too much on the nose so I rejected the idea
3- Trickie is more inspired by "Pop Nicki" than the beloved "Rap Nicki"
4- Trickie was originally going to have music based powers but at the time I couldn't make it work. Thus gave Trickie wind based powers and fairy magic
5. While Trickie is the "second" human/fairy type character properly introduced to the FORBIDDEN/Onyxeverse. Due to August Starfinder being human and having fairy blood in him. Trickie is a proper half human/half fairy due to her lineage. Whereas August received a blood transfusion from Queen Billie in order to obtain his fairy blood

Trait - Lotus Seed Bun: Nari pulls out her favorite Lotus Seed Bun from her dress and eats it. Eating the Lotus Seed Bun allows Nari to regain some HP that she may have lost during combat
Special Attacks
1. Deflection: Nari creates a spiritual shield that reflects all projectiles. It can also harm an opponent who is too close to Nari when using her Deflection technique
2. Spiteful Fire (Nari can also perform this attack while airborne): Nari shoots out a crimson and olive green colored fireball. If the attack successfully strikes her opponent there's a 1/4 chance that the attack will also poison Nari's opponent
3. Ka-Pow Combo: Nari goes to strike her opponent with a speedy elbow attack. If the elbow strike is successful Nari then follows up with a kick infused with spiritual energy. Sending her opponent into the air
4. Pretty Inferno: Nara unleashes a short ranged blast of carnation pink colored flames from her mouth
5. Unforgiving Sky (Opponent Must Be Airborne For This Attack To Work): While the opponent is in the air. Nari leaps off the ground and lunges towards them. If successful Nari grabs the opponent and strikes them with a blast of spiritual energy. Sending her opponent crashing to the ground
DIVINE RUINATION
Puffer Rain: Nari summons a poisonous cloud over her opponent. The cloud then immediately unleashes a downpour of harsh and poisonous water on Nari's foe

FORBIDDEN Update 09/02/22
FORBIDDEN UPDATE
1. Sonia Brightwood finally has a selected power set. While I still have some kinks to work out. Sonia's powers are planetary based with her possessing the powers of Mars (Red rocks/crystal) and Vesta (Illusion effects and short distance teleportation)
2. Trickie Mirage's Profile will be done before the end of September. Other profiles such as "Arkan", "Phukong & Boon-Mee", "Nara Asamura", and possibly others either later this month or mid October
3. Other character profiles such as "Jia Xiaoyu", "Apollyn", "Vritra", and "Kekoa"
4. Potential short story starring TEAM PASSION FRUIT (Mona, Addison, Nevin) later this year. Maybe a blog exclusive story since I don't get a lot of clicks on my Wattpad page currently
5. Trying to get commissioned artwork for Menhit or Arancini later this month to be done by October
6. Work on Rodrigo Seval's skill set. His profile may be worked on around Mid October-Early November since it's not a sad story or anything heavy for his backstory
