Hey everyone just wanted to quickly tell y'all thank you for supporting my blog. Anyways there will be one final official character artwork for MIGNARDIS coming before the end of this year. However her profile won't be done until 2023 (My mother works hard enough). Also in 2023 I will be putting a heavier focus on getting more female characters done than male this time around. The only guaranteed male characters for 2023 is JUDE & CADEN and KNOX. Everyone else will get pushed towards the back of the line. Part of the reason is because I plan on working less with past artists that only drew male characters and expanding my work relationship with artists that draw women. BIO
Born and raised in the Dominican Republic, Jude lived a relatively normal life and avoided those with magic because he's had a dislike for magic ever since childhood. After college, Jude worked as an editor for a local newspaper and enjoyed his uneventful life. It all changed when he received a phone call from his sister, Delilah. Upon visiting his sister, Jude was shocked that not only was his sister pregnant, but Delilah was minutes away from giving birth to her half-demon child. Delilah revealed to Jude that she had unprotected sex with a demon she met in Martinique. Jude assisted Delilah in giving birth to her baby. Upon the baby exiting his sister's womb, Jude felt an unexplained but instant connection with his nephew. Jude then cleaned up and lay his nephew down on the couch before discussing the situation with his sister. After a long talk, Jude decided to stay the night to go with his sister and nephew to the local hospital in the morning. While Jude rested in bed, Delilah began plotting the murder of her newborn baby. Knowing that despite being part-demon, it took over a month before a demon's regenerative abilities were properly active and even longer for that of a half-demon, Delilah planned on beheading her baby and lying to Jude that her infant attempted to kill her.
Just as Delilah was about to make her move and kill her baby, Jude awoke and was horrified to witness his sister holding a knife above his nephew's body. Instinctively, Jude charged at his older sister and the two began to wrestle for control of the knife. Accidentally, Jude had slit his sister's throat just as his nephew awoke from his sleep. While mortified for having unintentionally murdered his sister, Jude turned his attention to his nephew. Fearing that if he explained what happened to the authorities that they wouldn't believe him and he would go to prison, Jude did his best to get rid of the evidence of his sister's murder before taking Caden with him. Caden, the name he gave his nephew, and Jude left DR. Fortunately, there was a demon dressed in purple with unique yellow hair who was aware of the situation and made Delilah's death look like a suicide.
Jude and Caden moved to Mayland, where he started a new life with his half-demon (Cambion) nephew. Because of the unique bond Jude developed with Caden, Jude ended up gaining an evil eye tattoo right beneath his clavicle as well as obtaining darkness-based powers. Jude uses his newfound abilities to protect Caden from danger until he's old enough to protect himself.
TRIVIA
Jude and Caden were inspired by the real life Onyxe Blade and my nephew, Aisyn Zade Emerson-Gonzalez.
The duo were created during my ongoing coping process after the tragic and unfair passing of my real life nephew.
Prior to the creation of Unloyal and Untrue, who are also inspired by myself and my nephew, Jude and Caden were going to be the only characters inspired by us. However, at the time, I kind of abandoned the idea of Jude and Caden and they were almost not going to be a part of the FORBIDDEN/ONYXEVERSE, but I held onto them and eventually made something of them.
Thus while Jude is not an Onyx/Onyxe alternate in the typical sense, Jude can be considered an adjacent Onyx type character
A good example of Jude being an Onyx/Onyxe adjacent would be similar but not exactly how the Alter Ego class from the FGO (Fate Grand Order) series are to various other characters. Of course, Jude is very much his own individual.

Jude was also partially created for my desire to have a Dominican character along with Caden.
Despite his powers, Jude is NOT a Darken nor a Demon. His powers are directly from his nephew, Caden, who is still too young to fight on his own thus channels his immense powers through his uncle whenever they encounter danger.
Jude also takes minor inspiration from my mother, Gilda Celestin, through his love of writing and editing.
Caden's sweet demeanor is very much like my deceased nephew.
Jude is a gay man, but after the incident with his sister, Jude had made the personal decision to forgo a love life in order to ensure a good future for Caden. Jude developed severe trust issues and doesn't trust a soul around Caden.
Jude speaks both Spanish and English fluently and also speaks some Creole.
Caden speaks mostly Spanish, but obviously picked up on some English by hearing his uncle speak.

BIO
Gladys Rabaso is one of the many sons of the infamous Demon Pirate, Rico Del Soto. He was raised by his Cambion mother, Narina, who named him after his grandmother. Gladys grew up in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and at the age of five began displaying his demonic capabilities. Thankfully, his mother taught him to use his powers properly, so he wouldn’t be targeted by individuals who despised his kind. Once Gladys became an adult, he joined the Brazilian Army and served with them for over three hundred years. While Gladys took pride in being a defender for his country, he began desiring something more out of life besides the army. His mother told him that he became too complacent and as a demon he needed to allow himself to truly see the world. Motivated by his mother's words, Gladys eventually resigned from the army and began exploring the world outside of Brazil.
A few months later, Gladys encountered a group of Treasure Hunters who called themselves Team Shock. Team Shock was lead by a Spaniard woman named Gabrielle Labarga. They were battling a powerful Golem while seeking out a rare treasure. Gladys reluctantly aided the group in battling and defeating the Golem. Afterwards, they tried to recruit him, but Gladys harshly turned them down. Eventually, they would meet again when Gladys ran into a group of individuals who knew he was a demon and didn't like it one bit. Gabrielle alongside her comrades Eaton, Da-Xia, and Bain helped Gladys fight off the demon haters. Thankful for their help, Gladys then decided to join Team Shock.
TRIVIA
Gladys Rabaso's surname comes from his mother's side of the family. Gladys's mother, Narina, met Rico Del Soto while spelunking in the Underworld and the two had a one night stand. Narina shortly after returned to her home country, Brazil, and eventually gave birth to her son.
Gladys is the eldest of Rico Del Soto's currently known children. The other two are James Del Soto and Seanix Del Soto. Gladys currently hasn't met either of his younger brothers.
Gladys is in a relationship with Gabrielle, but does not lead Team Shock alongside her.
Gladys is named after his grandmother despite being a cisgender male. He won't be the last male character in the FORBIDDEN/Onyxeverse with a feminine name.

Haven is a relatively cool, calm, and collected young Sage and one of the founding members of TEAM CYPRINE alongside leader, Sonia Brightwood, and childhood friend, Macy Warden. Haven is the son of Lisa Soiree and Wallace Greenmore. Lisa was married at the time to Milo Oasis with whom she had two elder sons during their marriage. However, over the years, between trying to be a dedicated wife and hero to her country, Mayland, Lisa became frustrated and overwhelmed, which unfortunately led her to having an affair with her teammate, Wallace, who also was having problems with his boyfriend. Lisa shortly thereafter became pregnant with Haven. Upon Milo learning about his wife's affair, Milo divorced her and gained primary custody of their children Amanpal and Namid. Of course, Lisa would still be involved in her elder children's lives, but they resented their mother because they knew she cheated on their father.
Shortly after Haven was born, Lisa retired from being an active Sage and focused on being a chef for a living while taking care of her newborn. Wallace also did his best to be a father whenever he wasn't busy performing his duties as an active Sage. When Haven turned five-years-old, he began exhibiting magical powers. He would spontaneously create green energy orbs whenever he became overly emotional. Lisa realized that her son was a Natural and inherited the magical powers possessed by his great-grandmother, Vernita. Lisa made it her priority to help Haven learn to use his magic to ensure that the magic within him didn’t go haywire. Once Haven began going to elementary school, he easily made friends and excelled at his school work. A young girl and Sage in training named Macy Warden became Haven's best friend for many years to come.
After graduating high school, both Haven and Macy began preparing to become active Sages who used their abilities to help protect their homeland from foreign and domestic threats. Haven alongside Macy joined former soldier, Sonia Brightwood, in forming TEAM CYPRINE. Despite his young age and laid back personality, Haven possessed great combat skills thanks to his mother, father, and elder half-brothers who helped him hone his magical skills.
TRIVIA
Haven was created by an adoptable that I purchased and fully obtained the rights from the artist Gasai.
Haven is one of my many LGBTQ character; however, while my characters are commonly gay, lesbian, or bisexual, Haven identifies as a demisexual.
A demisexual is a person who is attracted to someone they created a strong emotional bond with. Thus, because of this, Haven has yet to actually become intimate with anyone and has never had a boyfriend or girlfriend. Furthermore, Haven and Macy are very close friends. Neither of them is romantically attracted to each other.
Haven's powers were inspired by Green Lantern from DC Comics just without the whole "ring thing" LOL.
Originally, I was going to have Haven be a loner type character, but ultimately decided against it, which is one of the many reasons it took me awhile to create a satisfactory backstory for Haven; despite having created the character early on in my ongoing FORBIDDEN series.
Haven's elder half-brother Amanpal name means "protector" in Indian.
Haven's elder half-brother Namid name means "star dancer" in the Ojibwe language.
Haven's great-grandmother Vernita's name was inspired by the word "Verdant" which is another name for "green".

Nevin is a young half-human and half-Saiga type beasterian. He was born and raised in Scotland alongside his adopted fully human sister, Codye. Nevin was raised on a farm by his human father, Adam, and Saiga mother, Lourdes. Living a relatively normal life, at the age of ten, Nevin began being taught fire magic by his father, Adam, in order to protect both himself and the farm. Adam wields light blue flames. Nevin would gain the abilities to wield violet/purple colored flames. By the time Nevin was sixteen years old, he became proficient in the use of his purple fire magic.
Upon reaching adulthood, Nevin was given a choice to remain with his family and help his father maintain the farm or find his own path in life. While Nevin loved his family and country dearly, ever since he was thirteen, he wanted to someday reside in the country of Mayland. Shortly after bidding his family farewell, Nevin caught a ferry out of Scotland that took him to England before catching a flight taking him to Mayland. Settling in the state of Ariso, one of the seventy-five states of Mayland, Nevin got a job working in a local factory, which he only took to make ends meet. In reality, Nevin wanted to become a fighter, but he remembered Codye's scolding that he needed to make a solid living before venturing off to do something as dangerous as being a fighter. A few months later, Nevin learned about an underground fighting tournament taking place in Rogue Town, a few states away from Ariso. Despite his adult responsibilities, Nevin had been honing his skills preparing for the day he could put his fiery powers to use. Now with this upcoming tournament taking place in Rogue Town, Nevin finally had an outlet to show off his abilities.
A few days later, Nevin arrived in Rogue Town and he would take part in the Underground Fighting Tournament alongside several other fighters. Surprisingly, he befriended a man named Addison Reed, who wielded green colored flames and used wrestling techniques. Despite becoming fast friends, both men promised each other that they would do their very best to win, even if they ended up fighting against each other. Both Nevin and Addison reached the semi-finals before being eliminated from the tournament by their respective opponent. While neither man enjoyed losing, they were beyond glad to have met and started their friendship. Despite their time in the tournament coming to a close, neither one was ready to go his separate way. Fortunately, shortly after, they met a gorgeous Native woman by the name of Mona. Together the three of them formed TEAM PASSION FRUIT, operating as a three person guild that battled various evils that endangered Mayland and the rest of the Mortal Realm.

Addison Reed is a sage who manipulates green colored flames and is well versed in wrestling techniques and currently serves as a member of TEAM PASSION FRUIT alongside Mona and his best friend, Nevin. He was born and raised in the Prospect Park section of Brooklyn, New York alongside his two elder sisters, Crystal and Tamar. At the age of five, Addison discovered he could manipulate green colored flames, which he inherited from his ancestors. He realized he was a type of individual known as a Natural. Addison was taught to hone his magic by his grandfather with help from his mother. Meanwhile, Addison's father taught him and his sisters various wrestling techniques since he was a professional wrestler for a living.
After graduating high school, Addison worked as a trainer at a gym located in downtown Manhattan. When he wasn't helping others, Addison focused on his own strengths and improving his skills. While satisfied with his current life, Addison desired an outlet to show off his skills. He didn't want to be a professional wrestler like his father despite his love for wrestling. He learned about an upcoming Underground Fighting Tournament taking place in Rogue Town from his friend and casual sex buddy, Josephine Conner.
Addison took time away from work to prepare for the upcoming tournament in Rogue Town. He arrived at the tournament venue a few days later. Addison was ecstatic by the amount of competition that awaited him. He even formed a friendship with one of the competitors named Nevin Silvers, who hailed from Scotland. Although the two men became fast friends, they both vowed to give the tournament their very all, even if they ended up fighting each other. Addison, along with Nevin, reached the semi-finals of the tournament before both were defeated by their respective opponent. While understandably disappointed that they lost their fights, thus unable to win the tournament, the two men were beyond thrilled to have befriended each other and didn't wish to part ways. Fortunately, they met a beautiful Native woman named Mona, who was looking for individuals who wanted to fight alongside her against the many evils that plagued the Mortal Realm. Not only was Addison smitten by the woman's serene presence, Addison, as well as Nevin, felt obligated to join Mona on her crusade against evil. Thus, the three of them formed TEAM PASSION FRUIT.

BACKSTORY
Orellana is a descendant from an ancient cult that praised the god Helios many centuries ago. She was raised in the state of Solius alongside her younger brother, Vira. Orellana enjoyed a relatively simple life thanks to her wonderful parents. The young woman was brought up by her great-great grandmother, great grandmother, grandmother, and mother to become a fellow Sunlight Priestess. Thus, Orellana was taught sun-based magic, a derivative of Light Magic, and proper healing techniques to help traveling Sages who needed healing from injuries or aliments. Orellana was extremely happy with her role as a priestess because it allowed her to meet so many amazing people and defenders of her homeland. Orellana along with her brother, Vira, grieved after the passing of their great-great grandmother, but they knew she would now rest peacefully, as many other deceased individuals did, in the Spirit Realm. Orellana continued to work alongside the women in her family in aiding those in need of her assistance. Sometimes, Orellana even worked with various guilds to act as their healer in their more difficult missions. Overall, Orellana enjoyed her life despite the dangers of her world, and she continuously strived towards a better tomorrow.
TRIVIA
Orellana along with Kekoa and Haven were characters I purchased from other artists and obtained the full rights to the characters.
Orellana was originally from the state Paraben in my earlier write-up for her, but that was never a finalized idea for the character. Unless it's on the official, profile any details I give for a character are never 100% canon.
Orellana shares magical similarities to Jia Xiaoyu and Dorothea. However, she is unlike Xiaoyu who uses pure light magic and Dorothea who uses mystical water and light magic. Orellana's powers are more related to the sun.
Orellana was originally going to be a demi-God, thus the child of the god Helios. However, I changed that idea while developing her canonical backstory.
Vira, despite being a woman's name, is the name of her younger cisgender male brother. Vira is a character that I intend to give further info on in 2023.

BIO
Brandy is a powerful young woman who possesses incredible abilities. Unaware of her true origins, Brandy is the daughter of the God Ogun and a witch by the name of Hydrangea. Ogun used magic to impregnate the unsuspecting witch during her sleep. Not because he was a pervert, but because he knew that Hydrangea's time in the Mortal Realm was coming to a close; thanks to information he received from his fellow god, Nerthus, that Hydrangea was going to die soon. Thus, Ogun chose to impregnate the woman so she could give birth to a demi-god who would be vital to the future of mankind. Shortly after, Hydrangea gave birth to the child she named Brandy, which was the name of a Sage she had killed months prior to becoming miraculously pregnant. Hydrangea had no desire to be a mother, so she dropped her daughter off at a nearby orphanage in Turmeric Village. Brandy was under the guardianship of two women and was raised alongside several other parent-less children.
At the age of five, Brandy along with her foster siblings were playing outside when several dragons appeared in Turmeric Village and began causing mayhem. Fortunately, the then ruler of Mayland, Queen Ida, sent several high-level sages to handle the dragon threat within the State. During all the commotion, Brandy accidentally encountered a gigantic blue and gray dragon named Druzan. A power within Brandy allowed her to communicate with Druzan and form a bond with him. Druzan, who didn't share the same bloodlust as his fellow dragons, merely accompanied them out of loyalty. Druzan felt incredible powers flowing through the child and took a great interest in her. While Brandy didn't hate her foster parents nor her foster siblings, the girl felt no emotional attachment to any of them. Thus, during the chaos, Druzan flew off with Brandy. Once everything settled, the women realized that all the children were present except Brandy. They mourned the girl's loss as they were certain she had fallen victim to the dragons. They were unaware that in reality Brandy was about to fulfill her destiny as a dragon tamer/dragon slayer. During this time, Hydrangea met her end at the hands of a Frenchmen Sage who finally caught up with the witch who had a part in a major crime that happened in France several years earlier.
Upon coming to the Dragon Lands, the home of dragons and dragon variants, Brandy was raised by Druzan. He taught the young girl to become accustomed to living amongst one of the most dangerous beings in the Mortal Realm. Many dragons within the land simply viewed Brandy as food, but didn't dare attack her out of respect for Druzan. As Brandy grew older, many of the other dragons grew to respect her although still viewed her as an outsider. None of it mattered since they soon discovered that Brandy was a being born to slay dragons along with controlling lower-level dragons. By the time Brandy was fifteen years old, she already had slain several of the more ferocious dragons within the lands. She even created a mighty sword and shield of the ones she had slain. Brandy also befriended a half-dragon and half-human woman named Mabel and, most importantly, a dragon-type beasterian named Arkan. Brandy learned from Druzan and other dragons that Arkan was the reincarnation of a demonic dragon-being named Calamity. Druzan then realized that meeting Brandy was no accident, and that she would be the one who would slay Arkan should he ever fall back into the sinister ways of his past self. Thankfully, Brandy and Arkan formed a strong friendship and the two often accompanied one another on various adventures. Despite not being a dragon, Brandy has never felt more at home than living amongst the mighty winged creatures.

BIO
Thor is one of the many gods hailing from the divine realm known as Mystilia. Thor was born a few centuries after the outcast god, known as The Heavenly King, left Mystilia in order to create his own world known as the Mortal Realm. Thor alongside his sister, Loki, were instructed by their father, Odin, to never go to the Mortal Realm because many of the gods and goddesses wanted nothing to do with The Heavenly King or his creations, and expected the same of their descendants. Of course, not all of the senior gods and goddesses shared such sentiments as there were many who would interact with the Mortal Realm for both good and bad purposes.
Thor remained in Mystilia alongside his family for many centuries as he saw no reason to venture to the Mortal Realm. That all changed many centuries later when one of their own, the god Akodomal of Disdain, decided to cause havoc on the Mortal Realm, which was known as The Five Year War. Knowing the havoc Akodomal was causing on the Mortal Realm, Thor's integrity no longer allowed him to just stand by and do nothing. Alongside his best friend, Susanoo, Thor ventured to the Mortal Realm and helped the various heroes such as Hellin Strongs, Orsela Geno, and others battle Akodomal's cohorts. It was thanks to Thor's efforts, and many others, that Akodomal was eventually defeated and killed. While Thor had intended to return back to his proper realm, the God of Thunder enjoyed being among the beings of the Mortal Realm and decided that he would stay while, of course, checking on his family from time to time.
Thanks to Mayor Antonio Lopez of Solo County within the state Paraben Town, Thor received a grant that allowed him to start his own laundromat, thus having both a business and home for himself in the Mortal Realm. Thor is not an active hero in the Mortal Realm. If there's ever a major crisis that takes place, the Thunder God would have no problem lending his strength to defend the innocent.
TRIVIA
Thor is based on Norse mythology; however, while Thor is normally depicted as a muscular or burly man in various forms of media, I decided that I wanted my Thor to have a hippy vibe to him while maintaining a nice physique.

The Story of How Unloyal Met Untrue

Somewhere in New York of Earth 211, a gigantic entity born from the souls of abused children was destroying the world. Screams of citizens could be heard as multiple buildings crumbled all around them. The entity continued showing them the same mercy that was shown to the tortured souls that birth it. The onslaught carried on as many civilians screamed their final cry before being massacred by various cars and buildings falling upon them. The entity proved so strong that not even the U.S. Armed Forces were able to take it down. Given the destruction that was being caused, there was consideration by the government to unleash a nuclear bomb in hopes of slaying the lovecraftian-like being; regardless of the danger such actions would do to New York and any remaining civilians. However, there was the sudden appearance of a young man dressed in purple and black with various piercings on his face who had an overall gothic vibe to him. Watching the chaos unleashed within the city with a ball of popcorn chicken in his hand, the foreign being was none other than Unloyal, the eldest of Queen G's four sons and one of the many alternate universe versions of Mayland's current ruler, King Onyx.
Unloyal, who has the ability to jump to different worlds at will, was ordered by his mother to observe the destruction of Earth 211. Although indifferent to the suffering of the civilians, especially those not of his home world, Unloyal observed the destruction caused by the entity from a safe distance. Even if he was somehow spotted by the entity, he could simply jump back to his home world or his "happenstance" abilities would save him... maybe. Unloyal continued enjoying his food while scratching an inch on his testicles. Annoyed by the screams of the civilians below him, the man quickly reached for his AirPods and placed them in each ear as he listened to his EDM music.
The Entity continued its onslaught as many civilians met their end, regardless if they deserved it or not. Suddenly, the entity spotted Unloyal sitting several buildings away and instantaneously teleported itself to the foreign man's location. While startled by the entity suddenly appearing before him, Unloyal returned to his unfazed state and continued eating his popcorn chicken. The entity looked at Unloyal with curiosity in its eyes as Unloyal stared back at him. Amused by the creature before him, Unloyal offered the entity some of his food. The entity gobbled a handful in its mouth and immediately began staring at Unloyal the way a child would stare at a loving parent. The entity then transformed right before Unloyal's eyes from a scary divine being into a naked vanilla-skinned child with curly auburn hair and hazel eyes. The child instantly leapt into Unloyal's lap, which kind of freaked him out because it was a naked child.
Nonetheless Unloyal quickly removed his sleeveless purple and black hoodie from his upper body and wrapped it around the naked child's body. Unloyal then said to the entity turned child, "I don't know your story, little one, nor do I really care, but since you're no longer a raging overlord, I shall take you with me back to my world, but you better behave yourself, little man. Also, your name shall be UNTRUE... no exceptions." The entity, now known as Untrue, only responded with "’Kay... popcorn chicken please." Unloyal kissed Untrue on his head before teleporting away with him, leaving the destruction caused by Untrue for the beings of Earth 211 to handle.
Meanwhile, somewhere in Mayland of Earth 135, Orsela Geno celebrated with her sister, Hellin Strongs, along with Trevyn Aliyu and Sung Jin. They aided her in seeking out and securing the capture of her newly obtained Nox card, Nox Count Amilcar. Orsela was beyond giddy to now own seven amazing Nox creatures in her possession as she continued her journey in becoming a Nox Master.

BACKSTORY
Yura Mikan was an assassin turned "Lady in Waiting" for Mayland's current ruler, King Onyx. Born in Kyoto, Japan in an isolated village of shinobis (ninjas), Yura alongside her brother, Ryo, were raised by their parents Oda and Nina Mikan. Alongside their fellow shinobis, Yura and her brother were taught to be proficient assassins and to honor the ninja code. One evening after returning home from a mission with her brother and father, Yura and her family learned from one of their senior shinobis that her mother and her squad of ninjas were slain in battle. This news caused Oda immense rage and from that day onward, life became more harsh for a still young Yura as her father's methods became more vicious in order to raise his children and the rest of the shinobis to not be failures like his dead wife.
The life of a shinobi proved unbearably harsh, but Yura was determined to prove her worth, not only to her father, but to herself. However, Ryo began struggling to deal with the shinobi and plotted to run away. Approaching their adulthood, Ryo along with other young shinobi and kunoichis (a term for female ninjas) made their preparations to run away from their village. They knew that such actions were a grave violation of the ninja code, but they became tired of living under a strict regime and no longer wanted to endure such a life. Thus, while everyone was sound asleep, Ryo and other young shinobis made their move and began escaping the village. While nearly successful in their ventures, two of the elder guards spotted them and pursued the runaways. Ryo, refusing to allow himself or the others to get caught, used his ninja skills and slayed the two guards before making their escape.
The next day Oda and his squad discovered the dead bodies as well as noticing that his son, Ryo, and several other ninjas were missing. Angered by this revelation, Oda rounded up a squad that he made Yura the leader of in order to find Ryo and the others. Yura agreed to track down her brother and the other runaway ninjas and bring them back to the village. It was under the condition that despite breaking the ninja code that they would not be killed without a fair trial. Oda reluctantly gave Yura his word that he would not immediately kill Ryo and the others upon their return to the village.
Three days later, Yura and her squad returned with Ryo and the other runaways, despite Ryo's plea to his elder sister. Yura ensured him that their father would not kill him and the other ninjas without hearing them out first. Ryo said to his sister that she was too trusting of their father and that he would betray her. Yura worried that he brother might be telling the truth, but couldn't quite bring herself to think her father would lie about such a thing. Shortly after the arrival of the runaway shinobis, Oda immediately called to have them executed for treason. Immediately, Yura confronted her father and demanded that he keep his word and listen to Ryo and the runaways first before taking such drastic actions. Oda delivered a merciless slap across Yura's face and told her if she dared defy him again that she'd be killed along with them. Yura was devastated that not only had her father lied, but that her baby brother was going to die. It was the first time since her mother's death that Yura cried as she watched her brother and the others be executed. Yura felt immediate regret for trusting her father, but that regret swiftly turned into rage.
Yura plotted revenge on both her father and her fellow shinobis. A week later, Yura gathered five of her shinobis, the same shinobis who accompanied her to capture Ryo and the other runaways. Yura then killed them in order to use them for a ritual needed to bring down her village. Afterwards, Yura confronted the rest of her village as she used the shinobis she slayed to summon a vicious demonic snake known as Kuchisake-Onna. The demonic snake immediately massacred the shinobis, despite their best efforts to combat the creature. Meanwhile, Yura headed straight to her father to confront him in combat. Upon seeing his daughter, Oda drew his blade as he saw and felt her murderous intent. The two battled. Oda initially had the upper-hand, but the hatred within Yura's soul gave her the strength to push forward and she murdered her father in battle. Once her father was dead as well as the rest of the shinobis in the village, Yura, the last one standing, took her leave and shortly afterwards becomes a killer for hire.
The Second Devilry Combat Tournament/King Onyx's Reign
King Onyx is the first half-demon to ever rule Mayland despite his lineage and age. King Onyx proved himself to be a fair and loving ruler that many of Mayland's citizens, despite their prejudice towards his kind, loved and respected. However, there were many who simply despised having a demon or Cambion as their country's ruler and wanted Onyx dead! A man by the name of Dennis Greencloud, who was the biggest anti-Onyx citizen, hired Yura to assassinate the still young and inexperienced Cambion ruler. The plan was for Yura to enter King Onyx's second Devilry Combat Tournament. However, the intention wasn't for Yura to actually win the tournament, but to kill Onyx. That would allow Dennis and his cohorts to place someone they felt was deserving of being Mayland's next ruler, and certainly not a damn half-breed demon.
The tournament began without a hitch as Onyx and James watched as the fighters battled one another to move one step closer to fighting Onyx for his throne. There were only eight fighters left in the tournament, including James and Yura. Of course, James wasn't competing for the throne, but to keep others from fighting Onyx. That night, Yura sneaked her way into Onyx's castle to assassinate him. Fortunately, James along with two regular guards spotted Yura and immediately engaged her in battle. Despite their best efforts, Yura gained the upper-hand and was about to decapitate James. Before she had a chance to strike, Onyx appeared and blocked Yura's attack and knocked her away from James and the others. Onyx then used his telepathy to subdue Yura despite her efforts to resist his mental control over her. While understandably agitated by the assassin's actions, instead of killing her immediately, Onyx decided to read her mind and see why she entered his castle uninvited. Learning that she was indeed an assassin hired to kill him, Onyx also learned of the woman's unfortunate past and her pain in having been the cause of her brother's death. Despite logic screaming at him to turn the woman's mind to mush, Onyx decided to spare her and simply told her to leave his castle. Yura remained a competitor in the tournament. Ever since Onyx spared her, Yura felt heavily conflicted.
The four remaining fighters secured their spot in the tournament as another day came to an end. During the night, Yura went walking through the market in the Royal Lands. Unbeknownst to her a fellow competitor by the name of Recluse, who was scheduled to battle Yura the following day, decided that she would kill Yura that night instead via a surprise attack. To Recluse's surprise, King Onyx appeared in the market, walked up to Yura, and grabbed her hand. Onyx then took Yura to explore the market with him. At first, Yura thought that Onyx was going to finish her off because of her assassination attempt. To her surprise, Onyx wanted to get to know her better and show the woman some of the coolest spots in the market to visit. The two talked and they began to understand each other better. That was the moment Yura made up her mind not to go through with killing Onyx. She was even prepared to tell Onyx that she was going to withdraw from the tournament. At that moment, Recluse made her move. She unleashed several highly poisonous needles towards Yura. Instinctively, Onyx jumped in front of Yura and was struck by the multiple needles instead. Seeing that her attempt to take out Yura failed, Recluse ran off into the night as Yura hurried Onyx back to the castle.
James and the other guards were on high alert when they saw Yura with Onyx. James also noticed that Onyx looked rather pale as Yura explained that they were attacked. Onyx swiftly confirmed Yura's story to keep James from losing his shit. While being part-demon ensured Onyx survived the poisonous attack, he still needed to take a remedy and allow his demonic blood to heal him with proper rest. That meant that Onyx would not be one hundred percent when it was time to defend his throne. It was that very moment Yura declared herself as Onyx's "Leading Lady" and would devote herself alongside James in defending Onyx's throne. James personally didn't trust the assassin, but Onyx and Yura created their own unique bond during their short time together. Onyx had Yura's full trust and vice versa.
The last day of the tournament arrived and James defeated his opponent and Yura battled Recluse. The assassin not only knew it was Recluse who attacked Onyx and her at the market the night before, but Yura also knew that Recluse wanted to avoid a direct confrontation with her. She was now ready to make the poison using Sage pay with her life. Yura decimated Recluse in battle and beat her within an inch of her life before she was carried away by Emergency Medical Technicians. Dennis then appeared within the audience as he anticipated the battle between Yura and James. To his surprise, Yura publicly declared herself as the second protector of King Onyx and that there was no other competitor in the tournament who threatened Onyx's reign. Immediately, Dennis ran onto the battlefield and confronted Yura for her betrayal. Regardless of the man's harsh words, Yura had no intention of going back on her word. Realizing that Yura was as committed to protecting Onyx as he was, James hurled a blast of fire at Dennis. He began screaming in agony as the flames consumed his body into nothingness.
The second Devilry Combat Tournament concluded and Onyx would remain Mayland's ruler for another ten years. Yura became Onyx's official "Leading Lady", the female equivalent of the King or Queen's right hand man, a position that James currently occupied. Yura turned out to be a devoted protector and friend of King Onyx, and helped him run Mayland. Thanks to the combined efforts of the trio, Onyx would rule Mayland for many years to come as he had multiple successful throne defenses for every ten years a Devilry Combat Tournament was held. While Yura's old self still remained within her, thanks to the kindness Onyx showed her, Yura decided to follow a new path in life in an effort to rectify the cruelty of her past.
TRIVIA
Yura Mikan is a Japanese woman, but is 1/4 Ecuadorian since her mother, Nina is half-Japanese and half-Ecuadorian. Her father Oda is a full-blooded Japanese man.
One of Yura's alias "Icy Hearted Snake" is inspired by singer/dancer Paula Abdul's song "Cold Hearted".
Yura's inspirations are Christie from the Dead or Alive series, Crimson Viper from the Street Fighter series, Black Orchid from Killer Instincts and lastly, general assassin archetype inspirations.
Another one of Yura's alias "Yuki-Onna" is inspired by Japanese mythology of a woman who possessed the ability to freeze her victims.
The gigantic snake that Yura summoned to slay her fellow shinobis is named Kuchisake-Onna, another creature from Japanese mythology. Kuchisake-Onna is a woman whose mouth had been cut open from both corners of her mouth and she carries a pair of scissors. Kuchisake-Onna wears a mask to hide her disfigurement and from those who unfortunately encounter this malevolent being. Kuchisake-Onna will ask them if she's "pretty". If the individual responds with "No", Kuchisake-Onna will kill them immediately. If the person responds with "Yes", Kuchisake-Onna pulls off her mask and reveals her disfigurement. If the person still responds with "Yes", Kuchisake then uses her scissors and gives her victim the same disfigurement she has. The way to avoid either cruel fate is to respond to Kuchisake-Onna's question with either "So so", "Average", or give her hard candy. Anything else would result in one's death or disfigurement. Yura's demonic snake possesses the same disfigurement, which she uses to swallow a multitude of victims.
Yura is a bisexual woman with a preference for women.
While unintentional on both their parts, Yura and Onyx have a mother-son relationship despite Onyx being older than Yura.
Yura's mother original name was going to be Michiko, but I decided on Nina when I made Yura's mother only half-Japanese.
