BIO

Deon Santos is a tall, dark, and handsome young man with a troubled past. He possesses orthodox and forbidden magic skills, and is the son of two witches (evil sages) who were a part of a cult called The Blight. (The Blight is a cult of witches that reside in Mayland with intentions of gaining influence through devious means). Deon was born after two of the cult members, Gloria and Herinque, began a relationship and Gloria became pregnant shortly thereafter. Once Deon reached the age of five, he and the other children of The Blight began harsh training each day in order to learn magic in preparation for their future roles within The Blight. Deon's parents desired their son to learn forbidden magic known as Lopingian. Each day, Deon knew there was a certain expectation of him. If he failed to meet his parents standards, he would receive a whooping and would sleep in the dungeon and go days without dinner. Eventually Deon's hard work paid off as he summoned his first Permian beast, which was a cynodont. While Deon was beyond satisfied with his results and even named the cynodont Remy, his parents hoped for a more ferocious creature for their son to summon. Deon did not receive a whooping, but he was made to sleep in the dungeon once again. Fortunately, he wasn’t alone this time as Remy kept him company. 

During the night, The Blight were invaded by several heroes of Mayland led by King Onyx's Lady in Waiting, Yura Mikan. Yura Mikan had been trailing the nefarious witches ever since their activities in New Jersey several months ago. A battle between the two groups had occurred and despite The Blight's best efforts, Yura and her team of sages proved to be too much for them and forced the members to run away. Henrique was one of the many witches to flee while Gloria stayed behind to retrieve her son. A part of her despised staying behind, but despite her harsh methods, Gloria loved her child and didn't want anything bad to happen to him, especially since he was so young. 

Gloria reached the dungeon and released Deon and Remy before the three attempted to escape the secret base of The Blight. However, the trio found themselves confronted by Yura herself as she intended to detain as many witches as possible. A fight between Gloria and Yura took place. Gloria's magic was no match for Yura's assassination skills. Gloria was slain as Yura struck her in the heart with a blade of ice. Seeing his mother die before his eyes caused Deon immense sadness. Before the boy could attempt any form of outburst, Yura performed a sleep-based jutsu that put both Deon and Remy to sleep. The next day Deon awoke inside of a home in Cadence, Ariso owned by a sage named Eugene Toffee. Eugene Toffee was a retired sage who Yura requested to foster Deon until they found a permanent home for the parentless boy. Thankfully, Deon wasn't alone as Remy was right beside him. 

At first, Deon did not care for Eugene and considered running away with Remy. However, Eugene managed to win the boy over with sincerity and charisma. Eugene then became Deon's permanent caregiver and trained the boy how to use his magic without any cruelty attached to it. Over time, Deon became strong enough to summon other Permian period wildlife although his cynodont, Remy, always remained his favorite. Eventually a boy by the name of Capella Germanotta ended up in Eugene's care after his mother abandoned him. Despite Capella initially not being happy about his given situation, Deon managed to break through Capella's icy exterior and the two bonded over their childhood woes. Eventually, Capella decided to start his own guild, and Deon and Remy were the first to join. Shortly afterward, they befriended a water witch named Wendy and a mysterious woman named Kelsey Lambert. While his childhood was far from ideal, Deon was grateful that he was now surrounded by friends that he wouldn't trade for the world.

3. Deon was 100% going to be black due to my semi-guilt from changing Capella's race during his initial conception to his final design
